Lisa Fathers BA ( Hons)  is Head of the Teaching School ‘The Alliance for Learning’  and Co-Principal BFET. Lisa was previously Associate Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher at Flixton Girls School (FGS) where she has provided innovative and dynamic leadership, developing FGS as one of the highest performing secondary schools in Trafford and sixth most improved school in the country. Lisa was responsible for leading Teaching and Learning, Staff Development, Safeguarding, Business Development and Community and Primary links.

Martyn Reah

After 20 years of working as a teacher I have decided to put pen to paper and record the things which interest me and hopefully others. Born in Chester and brought up in Sunderland I now call Petersfield home. After starting my career in the East Midlands promotion moved me north to Yorkshire. Family commitments dragged me kicking and screaming south to Hampshire where my four children keep me busy with some spare time available for enjoying sport.

The job has changed dramatically since 1994. My first classroom had a state of the art chalk board which could display 3 different boards. E mail was not something I was aware of and my register was kept very neat and tidy in my blue register book (I’m sure absence patterns were easier to spot then!!). What remains the same is the desire to see all of the students I work with achieve their best. I hope you enjoy my thoughts and feelings about what remains the best job in the world (in my opinion anyway).

Dr Sue Roffey

Dr Sue Roffey has been a parent, teacher, educational psychologist and academic.  She now has honorary professorships at three universities and is director of Growing Great Schools Worldwide.  A prolific author and social activist, Sue is a strong advocate for all things well-being in education – including the critical importance of teacher well-being.

Mal Krishnasamy

Mal is a former senior leader of ten years in a variety of London schools leading teaching & learning & CPD. As a consultant, she provides 1-1 coaching, ILM endorsed coaching skills training and leadership development courses. She also supports whole school improvement through introducing and embedding a coaching culture to organisations.

As a passionate advocate of staff & student well-being and gender equality, Mal is a member of the National SMSC Quality Mark Steering Group, a Network Leader for WomenEd, the Dorset Advocate for the MaternityCPD Project & a Gender Equality Collective Ambassador.

Kat Howard

Kat Howard is Assistant Head at Duston School, Northampton. In addition, she is Founder of Litdrive, a resource and CPD provision for English teachers, and East Midlands Representative for the MTPT Project, a charity that supports parent- teachers with CPD in and beyond schools. Enthusiastic about research- informed Teaching and Learning, driving challenge in schools and subject-specific CPD for teachers, she believes that if teachers are well cared for and time is used effectively in schools, we can retain teachers and support them to fulfil a sense of purpose.  Her book, Stop Talking About Well-being: a pragmatic approach to teacher workload is out January 2020.

Bukky Yusuf

Bukky Yusuf has undertaken a number of leadership roles within mainstream / special schools and is also an ambassador for Leadership Matters.

As part of her keen interest with EdTech, she is a judge for BETT Awards and an Education Board Member for Innovate My School.

Bukky presents at regional, national and international events to support the development of educators at all levels e.g. #WomenEd and #BAMEEd. She also champions the grass root #teacher5aday initative to help colleagues maintain their well-being. Bukky created #21daysJuly as a fun way to help educators engage with #teacher5aday in the run up to their summer break.

Rachel Bostwick

Rachel Bostwick is the Senior Partnership and Enterprise Consultant for the Carnegie School of Education based at Leeds Beckett University. She is the co-founder of the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, School Mental Health Award and National Hub for Supervision in Education. Rachel leads on the business development initiatives for CollectivED: The Centre for Coaching, Mentoring and Professional Learning, Centre for LGBTQ+ Inclusion in Education, Centre for Race, Education and Decoloniality and Storymakers Company. In her spare time, Rachel is a primary governor and trustee for EnRich and SAPHNA. Rachel co-authored the Positive Mental Health: A Whole School Approach Book with her colleague Professor Jonathan Glazzard.
